In this second episode of the season, longtime members Tommy and Helen Bates (Helen joined First Pres in 1952!) share stories from our church’s past. Pastor Mike Hearon joins us to discuss how the Lord has been faithful in establishing the core value of grace-centered discipleship at First Pres, and Pastoral Search Committee member Elena Boone reflects on the women who have left an imprint on her heart through the various forms of discipleship experienced in our local body.

First Things is a podcast created to foster connection and biblical encouragement within the Body of Christ here at First Pres. This episode begins a five-part series exploring God’s faithfulness to First Pres, past and present.
In this first episode, Executive Pastor John Barrett and Elder John Price join us to talk about three significant transitions in First Pres’s early history, beginning in 1804. We’ll also discuss our current mission and church values and how they are shaping the work of our pastoral search committee.
